These gorgeous birds are a variation of the Yellow-Sided Conure. Pineapple Conures result from expression of the cinnamon gene in the Yellow-Sided Conure. They are a mutation, not a hybrid. The Pineapple Green Cheek is also called the Yellow-Sided Cinnamon Conure. Whereas the Pineapple gets its light head and pastel green back from the Cinnamon, it retains the chest and belly colors characteristic of the Yellow Sided Conure. Without doubt, the Pineapple Conure is a notch showier than its cousin, the Yellow-Sided Conure, which is an exceptionally pretty bird in its own right. Pineapple Conures are quite sociable and definitely quieter than many of their larger conures, which makes them a particularly easy pet to live with. Although they are not known to be great talkers, they are wonderful companions. Like all conures, these birds are natural, playful clowns that endlessly entertain their owners with amusing antics. |
