Hahn's Macaw
Hahn's Macaws, with a length of 13 inches and a wingspan of six and a half to seven inches, is one of the "mini" macaws.

Sometimes called the Red Shouldered Macaw, the Hahn's Macaw is prized for its gorgeous colors. The base color is green, with brilliant red underwing feathers. The foreground of Hahn's Macaw's crown is a gorgeous blue, as is the forehead. A Hahn's tail has olive-yellow feathers on its underside, as do the flight feathers. Its eye features a reddish brown iris, and the bird's black beak contrasts strikingly with the macaw's characteristic bald facial patch. The face is sprinkled with tiny black feathers, and its feet are gray.

This little beauty features very high intelligence and an outgoing funny personality. It is easily trained. A Hahn's is less noisy than their big cousins, and some become great talkers. Hahn's Macaws tend to bond quickly with their handlers. Like most macaws, the Hahn's macaw is playful, talkative and a wonderful pet. Although its natural habitat includes rainforests and savannahs, the Hahn's macaw is equally comfortable in a loving and caring home. Its nutritional needs are easily satisfied, and it loves a variety of fruits, seeds, berries and nuts. It additionally appreciates plenty of fresh water, toys, chew toys, and perches. A Hahn's Macaw typically lives 25 to 40 years or even longer.
