Yellow Sided Conure

A variation of Green Cheeked Conures, Yellow-Sided Conures are about 10 inches in length. These beautiful birds have brown crown and green cheeks, becoming yellowish towards the back. The feathers at the side of the neck, throat, and upper breast are yellowish-white tipped with pale brown, giving a barred appearance. There is an orange-red patch on the center of the abdoman. The flanks and thighs are yellow, and the tail is brownish-red tipped with bluish-green. Without doubt, the Yellow Sided Conure is a notch showier than its cousin, the Green Cheek, which is quite a pretty bird itself.

Yellow-Sided Conures are quite sociable and definitely quieter than the larger conures, which makes them a particularly easy pet to live with. Although they are not known to be great talkers, they are wonderful companions.

Like all conures, these birds are natural, playful clowns that endlessly entertain their owners with amusing antics.
